Creativity: A Partner’s Artistic Journey

By: W5

Here at W5 we’re always talking about the art behind the science of market research and the diverse backgrounds of our Consultants and Partners. This combination of curiosity and creativity is the special sauce that helps us meet our client needs. Recently, our Senior Partner, Marty Molloy embodied this with a project outside of W5. Marty’s a late in life abstract artist and was contacted by the musician Ryan Adams to develop a series of designs to support Ryan Adam’s recent U.K. tour dates.

Marty’s designed twelve posters on short notice, using collage for each of the venues including Plymouth, Bath, Oxford, York, Liverpool, Edinburgh, Sheffield, Wolverhampton, and four London dates. The posters were printed in very limited runs and signed by Ryan Adam before each show.

Additionally, during the process Ryan asked Marty if he could use an additional collage as the artwork for a digital single, a haunting live cover of a The Smiths song, There Is A Light That Never Goes Out.

This is what we mean when we say our team comes from diverse backgrounds and applies different ways of thinking, storytelling, and communication to your projects. Call us today and see how we can put our team of creative thinkers to work for you.
